Years ago when I first became a pastor’s wife, a dear older lady in our church shared this special candy recipe with me. Every Christmas, Judy would make many batches of this delicious confection. It’s simple to make, stores just great and everyone wants a piece!
This recipe makes a large batch for the holidays or you can portion it, put in cute Christmas containers and give it as gifts. It is so very simple, but oh, so very yummy!
Christmas Peanut Butter Candy
Ingredients:
- 6 cups granulated sugar
- 2 sticks of butter
- 16 oz. jar of peanut butter
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- ¾ cup evaporated milk
- 16 oz. jar of marshmallow fluff
- Pinch of salt
- Finely chopped peanuts (optional)
Directions:
Butter three 9” x 13” glass baking dishes.
Combine the sugar, butter, salt and evaporated milk in a saucepan. Stir over medium heat until blended. Bring to a rapid boil. Set a timer for 5 minutes and stir constantly.
Remove from heat. Stir in the marshmallow fluff, peanut butter, vanilla and chopped nuts until melted and mixed together.
Pour immediately into buttered dishes and allow candy to cool.
When the candy is still slightly warm, cut into small one-inch squares.
Eat & enjoy!
