This Easter Morning Breakfast Casserole is delicious and ready to eat quickly. The night before preparation saves time and makes a holiday morning breakfast a special memory! Try this with your family before heading out to Sunday Easter church services this year.
Easter Morning Breakfast Casserole
Ingredients:
- 6 slices bread, trimmed and cubed
- 1 lb. sausage, cooked and drained
- 1/4 c. green pepper, cooked (optional)
- 4 oz. can mushrooms, well-drained (optional)
- 1 and 1/2 c. sharp white cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 c. whole milk
- 6 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Spray a 9” x 13” casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Layer in order the bread, sausage, green pepper, mushrooms and 1 cup cheese.
Beat together milk, eggs, salt and pepper.
Pour over layered ingredients in pan.
Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
Bake uncovered at 350° F for 30 minutes.
Remove and sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup of white cheddar cheese and continue baking for 5 additional minutes.
Allow casserole to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
